From the sensitive transformation of historical interiors to the creation of state-of-the art auditoriums, Beard creates inspirational spaces
Beard is no stranger to the challenge of creating a modern gallery or performance environment.
We build brand new theatres and performing arts centres, collaborating with lighting and acoustics specialists to deliver the best possible outcomes.
We also transform historic interiors, creating exciting display areas in ageing museum buildings. When limited access is a problem, Beard is careful to select construction equipment that is suitable for use in cramped and sensitive spaces.
Beard works closely with conservation experts to ensure that any priceless exhibits that cannot be moved during building work are protected from harm.
Our £3.5m project at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester created exciting new galleries, a shop and a learning centre. Visitors now look down from the mezzanine gallery to view the impressive Roman floor mosaics that remained in situ throughout the project.
Beard carried out re-roofing and extensive stonework cleaning at the UK’s oldest museum, The Ashmolean in Oxford.
