“Constructing Excellence promotes the learning and sharing of best practice. Beard is a company that has made best practice core to its central values and has worked with us to share their experiences. I am delighted to recognise Beard through this award.”

Best Practice

Beard is a modern and progressive company with a highly skilled and experienced workforce backed by efficient management systems and processes, on a par with many much larger national contractors.

Embracing best practice and exploring opportunities for continuous improvement is ingrained in our thinking and is fundamental to our ability to deliver construction solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations - throughout all elements of our business.

Since joining the Construction Best Practice Programme in 2001 we have implemented best practice across every aspect of our organisation and continue to improve and innovate.  In 2003 we received a Construction Best Practice Award from Constructing Excellence in recognition of our contribution to the development and delivery of best practice throughout the construction industry.  We continue to work closely with Constructing Excellence and other bodies such as WRAP.

In addition to our ISO accreditations and KPI systems we introduced a Balanced Scorecard system in late 2007 to measure internal and external performance.  The system enables management to have a clear picture of all business aspects at a point in time, and is a critical tool in our continued progression and expansion.

At all times we remain open to change, flexible in our approach and ready to share knowledge and experiences.
