– Company sponsor’s Guildford Cricket Club for 2010 season and Chase Hospice Construction company Beard’s Guildford office, established last year to help expand the company’s construction activities into Surrey and surrounding areas, reports its first £1 million plus contract at St Philomena’s Catholic High School in Carshalton, plus other projects valued at £1.5 million. The ten month project at the school will provide a new school kitchen, an extension to the dining area and three new classrooms and office accommodation on the first floor. Due for completion in December, the contract is valued at £1.7 million. Just outside Guildford Beard construction teams are also on site at The CHASE children’s hospice, Christopher’s in Artington, where the company is carrying out alterations and improvements, installing a new lift and a new maintenance building extension, to deliver new high quality facilities for staff and the many children and families in their care. Beard is also building an extra multifunctional room for use by infants at St John’s School in Churt and further afield the team are refurbishing Evans Boarding House at Eton College and constructing new facilities at Clewer Green Church of England Junior School in Windsor Comprising a new school hall, three new classrooms, as well as toilets, kitchens and associated services the project is due to finish in July. Construction Director, John Youle, said: “We are pleased with our growing success in and around Guildford especially our first contract over the £1 million mark. The schools sector is holding up well for us - it’s an area where we have wide expertise and a strong record for delivering quality solutions to budget and on time. We are also delighted to be sponsoring Guildford Cricket Club for their 2010 season.”
