Beard selects finalists for the Wiltshire Business of the Year Environmental Awards

Mark Beard led a panel of judges who selected four finalists for the Wiltshire Business of the Year Environmental Awards. The Red Box Paint Company; Helen Browning Organics; The Consortium and Who Cares Ltd., were all chosen because they all showed clear leadership in putting environmental issues at the heart of their businesses.

The idea for the new award came from Mark Beard, who earlier this year implemented the environmental standard ISO 14001 and in October became a Chartered Environmentalist. Mark said:

“Beard is committed to reducing the impact that its activities have on the environment and is proud to be sponsoring and supporting this award. It is refreshing to witness other Companies approaches to environmental sustainability, as well as being given the opportunity to share experiences.”

The next round of judging begins in the 2nd week of January when Mark and his fellow judges will be visiting each finalist’s premises to discover how environmental practices are being delivered on the ground.

The winner will be announced at the Wiltshire Business Awards Gala Dinner on the 29th February 2008.
